soft click/knock in steering

[K15 Blazer]

noticed a soft click/knock in my steering wheel as I wiggle it... could this be a simple as a rag joint, or something much worse?
it is definitely after the steering box. I can twist the steering shaft, feel the knock, and the steering gear is solid as a rock.
thoughts on this?

Have you tested the tie rod ends, wheel bearings, or the ball joints? You could also climb under and look at the Idler and Pitman Arms.
