ok so i installed a positrac on my truck. it will do a stand still with both tires sometimes and others just with one. here is the question. will low oil level cause the system not to work properly.

What kind of positrac is it, like brand wise. Some are clutch, which are very senstive to fluid level and the mechanical types will work but you shouldnt be running with low fluid anyways. Some torsen diffs use some sort of non-newtonian fluid to transfer the power, how they work, voodoo, black magic...I dont know, but those are VERY fluid dependent.

i think it is the spring loaded type. it had springs inside for the spider gears

Is it the factory one? If so its an eaton govloc.

if i punch it right off the line it fish tails. but if i wanna do a stand still it will grab sometimes with both

would the fluid level affect this in anyway

If its a factory G80 your supposed to run a GM additive for the clutchs for the locker to engage and disengage correctly.
