After troubleshooting the P0401 code on my 1998 C1500 5.0, I have found the following problem. All the voltages appear to be reading right except for the 12V supplied to the EGR pintle motor by the red wire. It has 12V on it when it is not connected to the EGR valve, but drops to .27V when connected to the valve. The EGR valve is new and reads correctly as far as resistance is concerned. Since the 12V for the drive motor comes directly from ECM, it seems to me that either the wire is bad or something is up with the ECM? Anybody have any experience in this area?
