I can’t drive to orileys because the closest store is 70 miles away.
It was just an example as a way to try another scan tool. Is AutoZone the ONLY parts store within 70 miles?

Yup, saw that. Still depends on what data specifically he’s looking for. Local Mom and Pop auto parts stores code readers might not tell him what he needs to know.

Not all code readers automatically read the type of vehicle there connected to. The ability of the code reader or better a diagnostic test unit is proportional to the price paid.
Use your brain here, if AutoZone tester was communicating that tells you something. Action - result? Don't ignore the facts in front of you.
There are even high end diagnostics machines that are crap every once in while.
