run the hot to one of the terminals on the under hood fuse box I have no idea where to put the ground any where that is clean bare metal no rust no paint should work I would think if your wire is long enough you could most likely put it on the negative battery terminal as well

What I have is this model just black but someone cut the lighter socket off
