Hey, what's going on guys? I'm Duran, from South Louisiana. I'm a die-hard fan of the OBS/GMT400 ('88-'98/'99 Classic) Chevy trucks. This is my 1998 Chevy C1500 with the Silverado trim and it has a 350 Vortec under the hood. I always keep my OBS clean and it's never let me down at all and this is actually my second OBS that I owned in my lifetime.

IMO these are the best GM trucks ever built. The 99 NBS just are not what the OBSs are. Also the 350 is the most after market supported engine ever built. For me, I just don't like a 5.3L. A 6.0 or 6.2 yea, but not a 5.3L. And the GMT 400s are the best looking trucks ever built IMO. I see GMT 400s on the road eveyday, LOL but most of them are not in as good of shape as mine is. I have a lot of work in my 97. There are a lot of pics on my album page. New paint in 2013.

I agree. I used own a white '97 Sierra K1500 Z71 before I got my '98 C1500, I know a guy who won't work on any GMT800 truck because he hates the 5.3L engines and the build quality he truly prefers the OBS trucks any day.

Welcome from Jefferson Parish. I happen to love the 5.3l in my '96 but to each his own.

I know some people out there that do an LS swap or swap to 383 stroker. I truly prefer the stock 5.7, because it's serves me good. I actually like the stock look on these trucks, the only thing that I have aftermarket in my truck is all four speakers and my radio. I only have about 133k miles on my '98. :)
