I just installed a correct for the truck and year 5.7 CP crate motor in a 94 c2500. Just discovered PO had swapped a 4.3 and wiring harness from a 96-97. I have correct 350 94 ecm (16197427) and it is 32pin/32pin (Blue/Red), 96-97 is 32pin/24pin.(Grey/Black)
ECM Guru's,
Any bright ideas short of wiring harness swap?

Major differences. Get a 93-94 engine harness for the 5.7 and whichever transmission you have.

Second, find the guy who's idea was to put a v6 in a 2500, slap the taste out of his mouth, and burn his house down. J/k, but seriously.

A v6 could come in a 2500, as long as it was a 6 lug truck. And if we were talking vans the v6 could be in 3500s, I've seen dually box trucks with them.
The most likely thing is the truck came with a V6, and someone put a newer engine it with the OBD2 electronics. The easiest solution for you is to go to a junkyard find a '94 model truck with a V8 and same transmission and pull the wiring. But you won't be gaining much power by going from a '96+ 4.3L to a stock TBI 350.

Its probably older my bad. Its either got a 87-92 32pin/24pin or a 96-97 same set up wiring harness. The 93,94 and 95 are 32pin/32pin.
It is a 6 lug truck but vin reads c2500 w. K engine code.

6 lug 2500 = "light duty" - 7200 lb GVWR instead of an 8 lug's 8600 lb GVWR. You are essentially a 1500 but with the 6 lug pattern, a little more spring in the rear, and a 9.5" 14 bolt semifloating rear vs. the 1500's 8.5" 10 bolt. Practically everything else on the truck is 1500 stuff. I've got one, too. Nice little upgrade over a 1500 and definitely a stronger rear axle. Plus, it likely has 3.73's in it.

The 6 lug 2500 is identical to the f44 1500 too.

Close but not identical. Generally you're talking about a suspension package seen on 4x4's, where the 2500LD is generally a 2WD truck (though 4x4's are out there too.) I can also say the spring pack on a C2500LD is a tiny bit beefier than the F44 4x4; the overload leaf is slightly thicker, and slightly longer. The GVWR on the C2500LD being 7200 lbs vs. the F44's 6600 lbs tells a story too; it's likely all those miscellaneous little braces on the frame in places like the spring and shackle brackets. Each time you go up a little in GVWR you see supporting hardware that makes the difference though it's not always very obvious.

Sorry for the sidetrack; I think I've looked at a few too many of these trucks...
