I hadn't planned on it unless they're not flat. I am getting the block zero decked. We may have to rethink that plan and do both plus get the same compression of ~10:1.Are you getting them decked?
Yeah, remember I'm running a 2500 stall converter.The XR282 will push your powerband up a few hundered rpm, but I think you will still have more torque everywhere compared to the 350.
Plus, I don't have to rent a U-Haul and drive 60 miles one way to deliver my block for machining. Then rent a U-Haul to go pick it up in 2 Months.Wow ... nice. I could have saved you 2 weeks. LOL.
Hot Rod Magazine tested the XR282 in a HT383 back in 2002ish. Here is what it made power wise with the Vortec heads on the ~9:1 HT383. Knowing they made 426 ft/lbs @ 2.500 I think your ~2,500 converter will probably be just fine. It will likely stall even higher behind the 383.Yeah, remember I'm running a 2500 stall converter.
