I definitely got impatient on the gas door and warped the heck out of it accidentally. I was jumping all the way across each tack. But when it gets closer to being completely filled in the metal gets and stays hotter. So now I'm having to fix that mess up and I have never done body work, haha. Did you have to drill the spot welds from the tubs to the bedside lip? I drilled them out but I couldn't tell if you did. It seemed to be the only way to free the floor completely. I drilled the back brace spot welds out lastnight (you saved my life on that), and got where the tubs connect to the floor and where they connect to the bedside fender lip. That is as far as I made it. I was looking at the front of the floor to see how it comes out right before I went to bed but didn't really get it figured out.On welding/ shaving stuff.. Patience is a must.. Lol. Just do tacks a few inches apart and definitely take your time doing them, don't get the sheet metal too hot or it'll warp a panel in a heartbeat.. Lol
I've gotten to where I'll just do a few spaced out and keep checking the panel with my hand, once it gets warm around the area StOp. Let it cool down.. Takes longer, but saves ten times the extra work on bodywork.. Lol I use to be impatient as heck, I'd tack something.. Get tired of waiting and start tacking more.. Then be like Screw it, a few short beads will make it go faster.. Lol Warp the heck out of it
Feels like it takes forever keeping a panel from getting hot, but definitely worth it in the end.
