I had a 5-speed 3.42 TBI truck before this one. A gear change will definitely wake it up, but instead on mine I did a cam swap instead of gears...What a world of difference! Immediately noticeable and had more oomph up top and down low for towing, pushing, whatever. At that time I just used a stock replacement clutch which endured fine for my application. I was sure to resurface the flywheel as well.

What did you go with for a cam? if you don't mind me askin. Do you have to resurface the flywheel no matter what or? I to went with a stock like replacement. Its a 12in complete LUK clutch with ceramic button whatever the hell that means

centerforce dual friction will take twice the torque of a stock clutch...i have run 500hp threw mine with no problems
