I'm looking into purchasing a msd ignition..........

hey guys

Well there's a few things I'm doing to my hoe but for now I'm looking into buying a msd ignition for my 98 hoe lt 4x4 5.7vortec. I looked around and a few options came up. To tell you the truth I dont have the time to look around so I wonder what you guys have in your ride. I read up on a plug and play, I also saw the 6AL...... I dont know . I need your input in this....... I'm looking for something simple I'm not taking this down the track so the rev limiter is off the drawing board. I dont know with so many options who can make a decision. Also not so heavy on the pockets. It's still a family car just with an exception of a few mods. So what you guys think? Where would be the best and cheapest(yes I meant cheapest) place to buy and simple to installed? Thanks again for your input

the 6a msd would be your best bet,they are very simple to install. imo

i agree there easy to hook up,,but ur not rly gona gain anything with it

Forget an Ignition Box, i would just upgrade the coil, Cap/Rotor and module to MSD stuff, Thats all i have done to my 350HP 350, Runs awesome and has seen 6000RPM.

Summit racing has some really nice ignition products in their house brand. Cap and rotor kit is 22.95, 48000 volt coil is 36.99 and 8mm wires are 27.99. All comprable to msd products.

i would rather see you upgrade to Better "Factory" style stuff then a Box, You will get better performance out of the replacement stuff, Also upgrade your wires to 8MM ones, I recommend Taylor.

8.5 mm,,hotter coil hotter plugs new cap and button
u rly not gona gain anything from the box,,trust me been there spent the cash and was like wow i got nothing but a neat lookin box under my hood

thanks a million, I'll take your input into consideration and get some photo of my baby once I'm done........have some issues with a shuttering on my tranny but thats another thread......Guys again thanks a million

I found my MSD dizzy on Ebay the guy gave up on his truck so I picked it up for $40.00 bucks no I have the whole MSD set up now.
