I've got a Nelson tune. I've had it at 104 and thats it. How fast do you think with no speed limiter could the truck go? Provide it had the right tires. 99 Tahoe. 350 v8

What type of brakes do you have? Suspension? Tires? I think you should keep it under 100...

It depends on how long of a road you are on and how steep the hill is.
As long you don't run out of torque or road you could can go pretty fast.
But realisticly, maybe 130-140 mph depending on your tire size and gear ratio.
I've only had one of my trucks completely maxed out on flat ground. I was excited it could go that fast although it was pathetic.
If my GMC didn't have a speed limiter I'm sure it could do 120 mph, I'm betting more then that. But I wouldn't want to try it. When it hits the limiter I'm only about half way through 3rd gear.

Yeah, I'm pretty much in the same boat. I had my L31 up to ~128 MPH before I ran out of highway. It started to curve and I SLOWED THE **** DOWN!!!

Based on the following:

engine RPM divided by tranny ratio divided by rear ratio for rear end speed. Third gear for a 4L60 is 1:1.

5200RPM / 1 / 3.73 = 1394.102RPM

For tire circumference:

Diameter times pi

31 inches * 3.1416 = 97.3896 inches

For vehicle speed:

Rear speed times tire circumference in inches equals distance traveled per minute in inches

1394.102 * 97.3896 = 135771.024 inches per minute

Miles per minute is:

Inches per minute divided by 12 divided by 5280 equals distance traveled per minute

135771.024 / 12 / 5280 = 2.143 miles per minute

Miles per hour is:

Miles per minute times 60 minutes

2.143 * 60 = 128.57MPH
