Heat not working

I have a 94 chevy and when I change the temp to hot it just keeps blowing cold any suggestions maybe heater core

It might be that your heater core is plugged up just disconnect the hoses to it and flush it out with a garden water hose.

Are the lines at the firewall to/from the heater core hot?

There is a damper in the air box that mixes hot and cold air. It would have a motor actuator attached to it that could be bad. Do you hear any clicking from the bottom of the dash roughly behind the cigarette lighter when hot/cold is selected?
