I recently dropped the tank in my 95 k1500 and the factory bolts both had to be cut. I bought the Dorman mounting hardware kit but some of the reviews concern me. They end up breaking or just don't last and I'm paranoid that I'll be driving down the road with a tank full of gas trying to fall off my truck. Is there a stronger or more reliable way to secure the tank?

Take those bolts to fastenal and get grade 8 bolts of the same length, thread pitch, and diameter.

If you're worried about corrosion go stainless. I've had bad experiences with Fastenal especially SS bolts, they used the same alloy for bolts and nuts thus galling almost every time. Make sure you use anti-seize. Lawson is 10 times better but, more $$$
