Yea you'd really have to pull on it to get it out. I hated all the u bolt clamps they look like crap.your a FkN Genius! my burbs dosent do that at all, my sierra rattles like a *****. I'm doing this for sure! plus it's also a nice sneaky lock!
Al
I've been doing this for years except I put a bolt on the side also. Might be overkill but I think it's worth it. Also I double nut both of them.Did a quick video of how to stop your hitch from rattling.

I did that on my red truck. Got rear ended and damaged the bumper. If I would have had may hitch nothing would have happened. I also has 3 trucks all with hitchs that would be a pain. Here's a free way to get it to stop rattling: Take it out unless you're actively hitching or towing something. LoL.
I was going to double nut it but I had that lock nut so no need anymore.I've been doing this for years except I put a bolt on the side also. Might be overkill but I think it's worth it. Also I double nut both of them.
Unless you're using it as a step up into the bed, or leaving the ball mount in to deter tail gaters.......
