Ive only owned it since Friday, doesn't smoke any blue as far as i can see, I have also read they burn oil, upto 2qts a change is suppose to be fine. Im going to run Royal Purple 15w40 in it, suppose to help.

Is that a recommended weight, from GM? It certainly isn't for my 454. Why not run 5w30, or 10w30? I'm running 10w30 Rotella.

i believe they recommend 5w30, i run 15w40 in all my trucks, its readily available up here. they say to run at least 10w30 in the 8.1, suppose to help with oil burning.
