Duramax swap

I know it's probley been asked before but I have a 1997 gmc with a crappy 305 and I also have a 05 duramax and the body is completely rotten, I'm thinking of dropping my body on the 05 duramax chassis anyone ever try this?

You're ahead of the game since you have an entire donor truck.

You may find the '97 needs a body lift for this to work, as well as possibly some transmission tunnel surgery.

It's a big job but you can do it if you're committed...

I think it would be a really cool swap, hard to believe that my 1997 body is in mint condition and my 2005 has no body metal left lol
