Patient is 2 door 4wd tahoe and shocks are quite bad and need to be replaced. I looked over rockauto and foun that front shocks are the same, but rears are different. Does anyone know the difference? I understand that 4 door has more weight on it's rear. So what gonna be if i install 4 door shocks into 2 door. Will it be too tought or maybe become harder on side sways?

For a 3/4 ton truck? Or are you comparing a 2dr 1/2 ton to a 4 dr 3/4 ton?

I just went through this last week. It all boils down to GVWR. The 2 doors didnt get a high GVWR rating so the shocks were different. Any shock from a 4 door model will work on the 2 door. I just bought the 5100 series for the rear of mine and the 4600 series 050 for the fronts. My truck has a 2" lift hence the reason I bought the 5100 for the rear.
They will be getting returned though since I decided to put a 6" suspension lift in it.
