Ya I checked with auto zone, advance an oreillys an they all had the same policies. I was hoping it was cheaper to rent them but it wasn't. The 48 hr limit is something they don't advertise though...

I bought my balljoint press from harbor freight for about $50 and have done mine and others for extra $$$$.
Also for a rough idea on cost check out http://www.automd.com/repaircost/ I use that site anytime somebody ask me to do work on their vehicles. It has been fairly accurate.

A lot of people shy away from the front end work, but the shops will kill you on labor.
