So may be a dumb question but did an nv4500 swap with the external slave cylinder not too far back and I'm in the middle of changing the throwout bearing and clutch fork because of a malfunction. My question is, when installing the new fork, and new ball stud, does the nut have to be tightened all the way that holds the fork to the stud? I've never done one and asked the guy where I got the clutch setup from and he says no but it seems that if I don't tighten it, there is a lot of slop. Thanks

It's more or less just to hold it on there while you put it together. Once you get the trans in the slave and throw out bearing/clutch hold the fork against the ball.
