Ok heres the question..

What changed physically to the platform in these years? I know interior and door skins changes, the face lift and such as well. But did the core aspects of the truck change? Same frame? Same rears? Same body shell?

99 - 01 escalade sheet metal hanges on these 89-98s... will 99-02?

Will 99-02 dashes and interiors fit?

Do doors xfer over without issue?

Working on my first obs since my 99 hoe and 96 burban and this one needs alot of tlc in interior and such. I picked up a 97 3500 cclb drw (minus the bed) for 300......

Depends on what you are talking about. Tons of differences between the GMT400's and GMT800's. Don't confuse a 2000 C/K2500 with a 1999 Silverado. Almost nothing is compatible between the two platforms as far as bolt ons. A 99 Escalade is a GMT400, but a 2002 Silverado is not (though there are some token C3500 GMT400s from 2002 out there).

So this really confuses me even more.... lol

Ultimately I am seeking what years I can chase for parts for mine. I like the interiors of the 800 platforms more then the 400. Not to mention the 800s are more popular out there as parts trucks right now then 400s.

So.. here is the basic breakdown..
GMT 400 production ran until:
1500 trucks: 1998
2500 trucks: 1999
3500 trucks: 2000 (except as noted there were actually a few after this)

Suburban: 1999
Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade: 2000

I've seen Escalades listed for sale that were 2001 and OBS, but I have no idea if that is correct or someone who just doesn't know what they're talking about, but the GMT800 Escalade officially released in 2002.

NBS Tahoes and Yukons definitely exist in the 2000 model year.

Most all 2000 2500's are GMT400's if not all.

There arent many parts that interchange between 400s and 800s if thats what your asking. Rims is about all i can think of
