Ill give you the quick version of the story then Ill post pics, thats why people look at these threads, not to read my jabber.
I was at the drag strip racing my Charger when my friend asks me if I wanted to buy a truck, I said no, he said $200, I said yes sight unseen. So, I pay him and he then proceeds to tell me that the truck was a victim of an engine bay fire.....whatever, i was going to go pick it up from his pasture in BFE and scrap it for $400...i didnt care. Little did I know it had potential. I showed up to pick up the truck, it was on blocks in the rear about 3 foot in the air, the front had no wheels sitting on the ground, the interior was FULL of trash, the bed was LOOOAADDDEEEDDD with trash, and the grass was about 5 foot tall, behind a barn, next to a pond.
The day I picked it up:
I didnt want to tear it down in the shop because it was going to be a NASTY job with all the burnt stuff so I decided to do it out back, and wouldnt you know it rained ALL morning the one day I had off.
Got the drivetrain pulled in one piece
It quit raining so it was off to the car wash and dumpster:
After the car wash and 2 hours of throwing all the trash in a dumpster.. we're ready for more action.....tomorrow.
This is the interior after throwing all the trash out
Got the firewall stripped and primed
Starting on the burnt frame....
Firewall painted (its satin, just hasnt dried yet)
Picked up a Rancho "4 inch" from a wrecking yard for $200
Frame painted
This is a lift kit on a fork lift
Starting to go back together
Got some rubber
More tear down...
More height added
Headed back home
