98 GMT400. I have a topper (camper shell) that has a third brake light. I tried to wire it into the driver side tail light harness yesterday with no luck. Brown wire runs stop/tail/turn, the third brake light would not light up. I then tried running a jumper wire from the 7 pin trailer wiring harness to the brake light. This worked, but the problem with it was that the brake light would flash depending on which stop/turn signal pole I would jump from (there is a stop/driver side turn and stop/pass side turn pole on the trailer harness only). What I would like is to either: Tap into the brake light switch wiring only (without having to run 10' of wiring from the cab) or tap into the the trailer wiring harness and have the third brake light flash when using either turn signal.

Any help would be appreciated.
