Yeah 5.7l vortec lol. But really its your best bet cost wise. Maybe 383 stroked vortec, they can be had for around $2500. Either that or go LS, if your good at shopping and fabbing/wiring then it can be done for around the same money.

I've heavily considered a 6.0L swap for my truck several times but I can't justify it. The 5.3L and 6.0L might make good power but it's not down low. I've driven a few and I'm not impressed. The 454 and 8.1L are out there too. Is your Suburban a 2500? If it is then a 454 wouldn't hurt. If it's a 1500 stroking your 350 out to a 383 with some head work would be a good option.

Not much you can do with that budget. I'd say just save up for awhile

For $2000 you could get another Vortec 350, used from a junkyard, get everything squared up, freash bearings, small cam, and the heads rebuilt. Some porting with bigger valves and a tune. But if your engine is fine I'd leave it alone.

The best deal I think would be a L31-R and just swap it out. Or if your doing the work yourself rebuild your current motor.
