Alt reads 4.3 volts on dead truck..replace?

Truck is completely dead..will not turn over..no interior lights on..nothing..I multimeterd my battery it's good.. my alt reads 4.3 volts..do I just need to change my alt?

How can you tell if the alt is no good when it is not turning? Take it out and have it tested or find out why the truck will not start before you start condeming parts

HOW can you test a battery with a multimeter and get a meaningful reading? What is the multimeter reading?

HOW can an alternator "read 4.3 volts" if the engine isn't running?

Did you try jump start with a known fully charged battery?
