About to own a 89 GMC Sierra

My 89 has a hydramatic 290 5 speed (not factory). If it's original it should be a 5lm60 or hm290.

Good thing being,
Hm290
5lm60
Sm465 4 speed
Up to mid year 95 nv3500
And up to mid year nv4500

All will swap in place of each other (external slave cyl) And 95+ will also swap, but require changing the slave cyl line (internal slave)

Do have the truck at home. Enjoyed driving it today and getting most of the built up dirt off of it. Even had to fix the tag lights, both were burned out. The guys whom do my inspections know that I fix and keep things well maintained, they did not even say a word to me.

Even took my daughter out to a empty parking lot to start teaching her how to drive a manual transmission.

Tonight I was given 2 extra keys (total of 4) so I only need to make extra gas cap keys and have the camper shell re-keyed. And they even had the Factory Service Manual for this truck, I love FSM's over Chilton's or Haynes any day.
