In other news, I got the heads back, flat-milled .020". I was hoping for a reduction in chamber vol of hopefully 3 cc, but maybe only 2cc. Actual number was -4 cc! Vol went from 105 to 101 on all 8. So true static compression will be 9.08:1 with a Felpro gasket. If I wanted to spend $220 on a pair of Cometic gaskets of 4.280 dia x .030 thick, comp would go up to 9.34. I'm not going to spend the money. Stock chamber vol ranged from 99 to 102cc, plus the pistons were .025 below deck, so stock comp varied from 8.8 to 9.0. Having the compression all even, plus the head and manifold flow improvements will make everything more efficient. Fuel and spark can be closer to optimum when no cylinders are approaching detonation before the others.
