96 + Vortec Swap but with TBI Injection

I've been reading up on this forum gaining knowledge of these 88-98 trucks. I've got my own 88, sky blue with two piece rallies, and soon to be true dual exhaust system. My question is can I run a vortec carbed intake and use the adapter for TBI, or do I need the correct $400 intake for it to run right. Also what about the fuel system, the factory injectors(do they flow enough gas), and anything else you guys can think of would help me with this swap would be great.
