Ok so about 3 weeks ago the SES light in the truck came on. I drove to my buddys and his dad has a cen tech scanner from harbor freight and it read that it was the purge valve. He cleared the code and it stayed off for another 2 weeks. It popped back on yesterday so I went to autozone and they printed out a sheet saying its a P0441 code and these are the possible causes:
1. Small leak in EVAP system
2. Defective or loose fuel cap (checked that it was on good)
3. EVAP cannister or hose cracked or not connected.
4. Purge or vent solenoid defective
5. Vacuum leak at engine.
Im thinking of just taking it to the local mechanic and having him take a look at it to save me the headache.
