Hey all, I need a rad for my 93 cclb 454 truck, its the 34x19 ******* that everyone wants a suitcase full of cash for. Now, I can get a 34x19 for a 94 for much less.
The question is, will it fit without massive modification? It appears that the filler neck and inlet/outlet are the same, so what is the difference?
Thanks!

They should be identical, do they both have engine oil and trans fluid coolers??

Maybe core width differences?? I know i bought a thick one for my 98. It was quite pricey, but its lifetime warranty and WAY overkill to cool the small block.

I know there's atleast 2 different thicknesses. My dad had a '98 2500 with a heavy duty radiator and it was thicker than normal.

Very minimal thickness difference, 1/16" smaller for the 94. Theoretically it should fit I think??

I've heard they interchange but does your truck need the extra cooling capacity?

I know that in the diesel world this holds true but I could be incorrect for a 454. 93 had an all brass radiator with metal tanks. 94 and up had an aluminum core with plastic tanks.

Update. The 94 rad fits exactly the same and I see no discernable difference between the two. I love saving money!
