Truly Awesome
I kept looking at LS swaps for my old '94 and eventually it led to just buying a truck that came with an LQ9 from the factory.

I noticed that the 454 guys are all chiming in as 454. Have you considered the 6.0?
To each his own . I love mine but that's me. Parts availability wouldn't be an issue I would think, as many 6.0 2500s as theyre are out there. Every piece of my swap was either off a 800 or a 400. Just as matter of knowing which is which!Nah, that's not going to happen. I've had a few 6.0L trucks and a few 454 trucks and the BBC trucks would out tow my 6.0L 2500s any day of the week. I mean, a stock 454 has 70ftlb more than a stock LQ9.
I think I'll stick with the Vortec 454 with the FITech setup. I don't mind the wiring or anything, but the availability of parts is something I don't want to deal with. This truck will be towing my race car long distances so if I break down somewhere I don't want to be SOL at finding parts.
Man, lots of 8.1 haters in here. I'd do the 8.1 hands down if you can get it cheap.
