5.7 Vortec Cam, Worth it?

I have my whole motor taken apart in my 1998 Gmc Sierra (5.7 L Vortec). I am replacing all the gaskets. At this point and time, I'm wondering if it would be worth swapping a cam in there. I heard a couple good things about the Lt4 Hot Cam but I would have to replace Valve springs and what not, will I actually gain that much hp?

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

do it youll need a tune, best bang for your buck would be hotcam, ls1/6 springs and comp retainers. a touch of grind work on the heads couldnt hurt either.

I don't want to lose lower end torque, would something like a comp 4x4 cam be better?

i would imagine so, its usually what everyone else runs, i know that guy with the solid axled truck went with the hotcam and liked it, so i dont think it loses all that much.
