4x4 randomly went out

Hey guys I am new to this type of issue. I was coming home from work in a fresh snow and my truck wouldn't enguage 4x4 it's a 1995 k1500 with a 350 and a th400 trans. The transfer case linkage is intact and the wires are hooked up. What would y'all recommend

Test if 4x4 engages when the weather is warm. If it only fails when cold it my be the front axle actuator. You may learn some useful information about what the actuator looks like and troubleshooting tips by reading the description at this link as well as several threads on the forum.

My 95 is electric. Are referring to the delay being a thermal actuator problem?

If it has a 400 in it somebody swapped it in. That's where I'd begin my search for an issue.
