4 L80 e hard shift

Hello , On my 93 2500 4x4 350 tbi the tranny hits 2nd hard at times hard enough
that it shakes the dash all the other gears are no problem at all shifts perfect
any ideas? Thanks roy

I had a similar thing happen. My tps was bad. Throttle position sensor. Shifting from first to second was horrible. Thought it was gonna tear my trans up but it was just a sensor

There are a number of things that will cause this... Put it on a scanner and see what codes are being thrown. Like Dszx13 said, the TPS is very common. Also we have seen the PCM go bad and cause a very harsh shift. If you can get your hands on a scanner, monitor the pressure control solenoid and see what it is doing.

Well thanks again, after all this time i spun a bearing
replaced the motor as the motor was being placed i rebuilt the
tranny same problem changed the tps problem solved thank you dszx13
not even the tranny guy new that one. thanks again roy
