The only transmission issue was I have an under warranty 94 4l80e I would like to use if possible, but the 96 4l80e seems fine, yet I know the 94 trans is built. But will use the 96 for simplicity.

'96 PCM on a '94 transmission. The '94 trans has no provision for PWM on any of the solenoids
Richard
You may be right on that, I really don't know - but what about the rest of the solenoids?4L80 has always had PWM controlled TCC, you're thinking 4L60.

Just when I thought I was following now I'm really confused. 1995 the 4L60E went PWM on the TCC, and 1996 it went PWM on the shift solenoids, is what I understood. You're saying 4L80E's were always PWM on the TCC. Really? All the way back to 1991? And never on any of the shift solenoids? I'll repeat that I dunno, absolutely dunno, so I'm not arguing - it's just going against what I thought was correct. I could totally be wrong. The only thing that was or was not PWM'd was the TCC.
