I am replacing the passenger side door on my 1989 k1500 I think some of the newer obs trucks have a door wiring harness connector in the cowl but I'm not sure if there is a connector in the '89 I can't seem to feel one when I stick my hand in there and I don't find anything on the forums about it. Just want to be sure before I drill some rivets out that hold the inside door handle in place so I can pull the harness through. Thanks

Yes, there is a connector in the lower cowl for the door wiring harness.

Here's a link to the service manuals:

This info is in the 1988_GM_CK_LIGHT_DUTY_TRUCKS_SERVICE_MANUAL.

the connector is tucked up inside the side panel behind the plastic trim panel on the side of the foot well. It is usually a ways up there but with a bit of trial and error you should be able to pull it down far enough to unplug it.
