Hi all..

Fairly new to the domestic truck world.. spent the last 20 years mucking with 70's Toyotas.. So mechanically competent, but lacking in knowledge on this particular stuff..

Ive had my 95 C2500 for a couple years now for hauling the camper and car trailers etc.. wanted to get some more power than the L05 was giving me.. and then on the weekend picked up a 2004 2500HD parts truck..

Plan on putting its 6L into my '95.. then was thinkin at work today, why not throw the FF axle into my '95 as well..

So.. Ive done a crapton of googling around and am just confused as ever..

1995 2WD 9.5" SF axle coming out
2004 4WD 10.5" G80 FF axle going in

I understand I'll probably have to move the spring perches.. that doesnt worry me.. Im having trouble finding out what the width differences between the axles are.. Ive seen people saying everything from no difference to 4"s .. dont think I care either way.. couple inches wider each side wont kill me.

Anything else I should be aware of?

thanks,

brett
