Hello, I just picked up a 96 ext cab. How many o2 senors are in the car system? And where are there locations? Thanks for any help!

4, 2 pre-cats and 2 post-cats.

Is the o2 sensor in each manifold? And how many wires are they? Thanks for your help!

No, they should be right behind the collector on both sides of the truck and 2 post catalytic converter. There are 4 wires to the front sensors and I can't remember about the back ones, was thinking only 2 for some reason.

Its a 5.7. Thanks for all the help guys! Also from what I was reading vortec engine were introduced in these pickups in 96. Would that mean I have a vortec engine? Once again thanks for the help guys!

Yep... pop the hood and look at the big, bold letters on the box behind the throttle body... VORTEC... Then remove the box, throw it away, and cap off the opening lol.
