    Canepa modified 94 Suburban

The engine bay was not impressive. It looked like wiring was added over the years and not neatly installed. It had an air horn that was not installed very cleanly.

Thanks! It was all custom. Those were very comfortable seats. I sold it on Monday, so down the road it goes. Getting a new car for my wife and I will inherit her 2006 Pathfinder.

    Canepa modified 94 Suburban

A lady hit it in the parking lot of my shop one night. The body was so straight before that. I have not gotten around to fixing it yet.

    Canepa modified 94 Suburban

I bought this a few years back. The supercharger really sold me, but it has so much work done to it. Canepa would order these from the factory as a Cheyenne model and modify it for their customer. This one must have about $30k of upgrades done to it. The suspension was completely upgraded...

1994 TBI 5.7 - Crank, no start, stumped

Will the supercharger mess with that? I just replaced the PCV valve and installed a check valve between the PCV and the throttle body.

1994 TBI 5.7 - Crank, no start, stumped

That's what I was afraid of. I need to check it correctly. As soon as I got it started it was about 10-12° advanced. That was with a cold engine and I hadn't disconnected the advance connector.

1994 TBI 5.7 - Crank, no start, stumped

Thanks for the tips. The coil mounting does seem to be less than ideal. For some reason mine is loose. The firewall would be a better spot. Gauges are in order for this setup. I don't know why they weren't included in the original build. The fuel pressure regulator looks like it is...

1994 TBI 5.7 - Crank, no start, stumped

I replaced the plugs in September, maybe 1000 miles ago. I am running AC Delco. Don't remember the number, but it is whatever is spec'd stock. Canepa design did the installation when it was new. They had a system where people would bring them a new Suburban, check the boxes for the upgrades...

1994 TBI 5.7 - Crank, no start, stumped

I charged the battery up this morning and tried to start it up with starter fluid. It fired up with some hesitation and runs pretty rough, although it has always run rough. It even restarted after running for a few minutes. Still confused. I'm wondering if it will fire up tomorrow morning.

1994 TBI 5.7 - Crank, no start, stumped

Does it make sense that I get nothing, even with starter fluid, when there is at least some spark?

I'm looking into it. It keeps coming back to the pickup coil.

1994 TBI 5.7 - Crank, no start, stumped

The cap is dry. No water even got into the engine compartment. I still checked it to make sure.

1994 TBI 5.7 - Crank, no start, stumped

That's one thing that keeps coming up in my research. It has spark. It just looks weak with the #1 spark plug sitting on the valve cover as we crank it over.

I have a 1994 K1500 Suburban 5.7L. It has a Whipple supercharger that was installed by Canepa when it was new. They call for 92 octane, so I always run 91, the highest we have here in CA. Lots of other upgrades, but I don't think any of them are pertinent to this situation. Some...
