    Lean exhaust and other codes

Thanks for all your suggestions and inputs. Will look again at all my positive/ negative connections. Alternator, battery and coil all test good. Still need to put a good data tester on but the CTS ohms out correct at different temps. Will pull compressions over the next couple days. Did not...

    Lean exhaust and other codes

Would like to revisit this thread since I am still having an issue my truck. Runs good when I first start it up but after it gets warm, it becomes sluggish and stumbles when I first take off from a stop. Runs rough until I get up to about 2500 rpm's and then kicks in and runs strong. I do get an...

Thanks for your input. Any suggestions on a good scan tool for the OBD1?

    Lean exhaust and other codes

Truck seems to run good when you first start in the morning. After it runs for about 15 minutes, the rough idle and stutter start. Then again, each time you start it for the rest of the day, it runs rough. Would a bad catalytic converter cause this type of problem? How does one know if the cat...

    Lean exhaust and other codes

Well, the truck had been running very well for a couple months but recently, it started doing it's old habits. The problems started again having a rough idle, stutter when taking away from a stop and still getting an occasional code 44 lean exhaust. Runs rough until it gets to about 2500 RPM's...

    Lean exhaust and other codes

Wanted to give an update on the issues I have been having. For the last couple months, I have still been having a rough idle, stutter when taking away from a stop and still getting an occasional code 44 lean exhaust. I have been lucky enough to have another 95 350 tbi to steal parts from (this...

    Lean exhaust and other codes

So, the issues returned a few days after replacing the O2 sensor. Hard starting, stalling and missing out. Put it up on a lift and found the cat was plugged and the exhaust system was full of leaks. Replaced the cat and a new cat-back exhaust system and again, made the truck run good again. A...

    Lean exhaust and other codes

Just replaced the O2 sensor and that took care of the stalling. No more error codes. Still runs a little sluggish but will complete the whole tune-up. I want to service the transmission hoping that will help. According to service records, tranny was serviced about 60K miles ago but not sure what...

Thanks Dustin for the suggestion but I don't believe I have this sensor on my truck. I have a MAP sensor next to the TBI.

    Lean exhaust and other codes

There is no knocking on start up, engine seems to be strong. Just changed out the ICM and made a world of difference. Will continue to work on the basic stuff for now since I plan on keeping this truck. This is my third 400Gen truck I have owned and won't have anything else. My first was an 89...

    Lean exhaust and other codes

Thanks super, my 95 just has the one O2 sensor (OBD1) just in front of the cat. Have one on order and will replace it when it gets here. Working on the plugs, wires, cap, rotor and ICM today. Will see if that helps.

    Lean exhaust and other codes

I'll give it a try. The old one was easy and by the time you do all the parts, injectors, tps etc, the whole assembly was actually a little less and a whole lot easier. Hoping the ICM and other sensors will switch over since I had done them on the old truck less than a year ago. Thanks again for...

    Lean exhaust and other codes

Thanks Chip! All good ideas and appreciate the suggestions. I also have another 1995 K1500, pretty much the same truck except manual transmission. I've had it about 2 years and reworked everything when I got it including a new complete throttle body assembly. It got rear ended and there is frame...

    Lean exhaust and other codes

Just got a 1995 K1500 ext cab, 4wd, 5.7, auto transmission with 188K miles. Truck starts but runs rough and hard time accelerating unless you really stomp it. Just replaced the radiator because of a leak on driver side. Have also replaced fuel filter, plugs, cap/rotor, air filter and pcv valve...

1995 K1500 Spare Tire Carrier Hoist Problems

Got it figured out!! Seems the cotter pin that connects the sleeve to the hoist shaft came out.

1995 K1500 Spare Tire Carrier Hoist Problems

Had a flat tire on my 1995 K1500 last night and when I went to get my spare, it would not drop down. Put the tire iron through the bumper but it just spins. Any suggestions on how I can get my spare out since the hoist will not work? Thanks for the help.

    SHIFT UP Light on dash

Do you think the fuel pump could have anything to do with the shift light or code 44?

    SHIFT UP Light on dash

Thanks RichLo. I am also getting an occasional code 44 and was wondering if the intake manifold gasket may need replacing.

    SHIFT UP Light on dash

I have a 95 k1500, 350, TBI, 5-speed manual and the "shift up" light on the dash keeps coming on erratically. I have read other posts that say this light should come on when you get high rpm's. Mine has been coming on in 1st-4th gear at about 1500-2000 rpms. Is that normal? Wondering where the...

    ABS question

Had the same problem with my 89 K1500. When I came to a complete stop and then started off again it felt like the brakes had locked up and then a loud sound when they released. Checked my parking brake cables and readjusted them. Seems to have taken care of the problem for now. The cable was too...

HELP!! check engine light/ oil problem

Have you replaced your fuel filter? If you ran the tank so low that crap from the bottom of the tank was sucked up toward the engine, hopefully the filter caught it before it made it to the injectors. If the filter is plugged, it may be restricting your fuel flow and causing poor ignition. Just...

    From SouthWest Colorado

WOW! This is embarrassing! I've owned this truck for 16 years and when I looked for a pic to post, the only pics I could find were the day I slid off our driveway. Will do better in the future and get some current pics posted soon.
