Anybody got a set of old bushings lying around?

My bushing were shot, if rust could compromise the new bushing. I would just go with the new ones anyway.

    just a quick question

I've had that issue with NV3500s before some times you can sync the gears by first shifting into third and then into reverse.

    Steering Stabilizers

The steering stabilizer add on for the Rough Country kit is very simple to install with the kit. I could help save a lot of wear on your steering components. Its not a pricey addition, I would highly recommend getting it.

With a $200 price tag for a running/driver its the kind of ride that you get stuck and just walk away from and call it a fun weekend.

    95 k1500 takes forever to engage 4x4, then won't go back into 2-Hi ???

I'd place my bet on the 4wd actuator.

    Need help mounting a winch

That certainly works thank you very much for the pictures. I was hoping to tuck it in a little more though. Thats another reason I don't want the reciever mount. It affects angle of approach quite drastically.

    nameing a suspension part

Its the front cross member. The lower control arm does bolt into this drop cross member, but it also bolts into the rear cross member. So make sure you tell them you need the front.

    Vortec Lover's '98 K1500 Build

I would go with the 14.50, but I'm partial to a wider tire. Bigger footprint equals more flotation in the mud. The offset of the wheel will determine how much the tire sticks out as much as the actual width of the tire. I'm running a 38.5x15 anything narrower with a tire that tall just looks a...

Rough Country 4"/6" kit install tips.

My shop is in Oklahoma, so on the other side of the country... But its only top to bottom not side to side lol One thing often neglected, when replacing front end parts are the upper control arm bushings. Inspect these when you decide to go with the lift, worn control arm bushing will prevent...

Rough Country 4"/6" kit install tips.

I know the OP complained of using a Sawzall to cut the bump stops out of the truck and I know his frustration. I burned a lot of blades trying to do this the first time. We have since started cutting them out of this bodystyle with a plasma cutter, but I do have a method for sawing them out for...

Rough Country 4"/6" kit install tips.

Our labor rates are $65 per hour. The typical GMT400 kit is about 10 hours, so can expect to shell out $650 for installation. However on the plus side, due to the age of these trucks the suspension components almost always need to be replaced for safe lift installation. So we typically replace...

Rough Country 4"/6" kit install tips.

Hey guys thought I'd chime in here. I work in a suspension shop that deals almost exclusively in Rough Coutry lift kits, what you guys are referring to RCX. I'd be glad to answer any questions you have about installing one of the kits. If I can find the time I'll try to compile some information...

    Need help mounting a winch

I'm pretty good with a welder, if I find a day I'm not feeling to lazy I may pull the fron bumper off and see about mounting it between the frame rails. I wouldn't be opposed to cutting the center section out of the factory bumper and welding some side plates in. Then I could powder coat the...

Around town the 3.73s are fine. On the highway it struggles to go any faster than 65-70 with out constant shifting out of Overdrive. On the trails they working quite well in 4 low, just the right amount of wheelspin to get the mud 30 feet into the air. I'd really like something deeper, but we...

    Need help mounting a winch

I need some help mounting a winch on He-Man. Would prefer to retain the factory bumper, notching out in place of the factory plate location. We live in a state that doesn't have front plates. I'm sure if its even going to be possible to fit one in the space. To further complicate things the...
