    What have you towed lately

I can confirm that is does fit on a k2500 burb. There are two bolts towards the rear of the tranny where it rests on the rubber mount that are a little tight but still doable.

Found this when changing rear diff oil!!

Howdy folks.. short update on my situation. I took the truck to a local shop since I don’t have the time or proper tools to tackle this. What they found was the pinion support bearing failed but the bigger issue is that the race has been spinning and caused damage. The new bearing which should...

Found this when changing rear diff oil!!

Thank you sir! Still not sure what to do yet. The local shop that said $1200 is now not interested after showing the scrap metal found on magnet. I respect the fact that it’s out of his “wheel house” vs winging it. Checking with a few other shops.

Not sure on that. Will look at RPO codes later. Just know it’s a 14bolt, if that helps designate.

Found this when changing rear diff oil!!

I have 96 k2500 burb. 7.4-4l80e-3.73-G80 I appreciate the offer. I’m wondering if it just bearing failure I can replace that vs complete rebuild. I don’t have the time or tools to do this so going to call a shop today for estimates.

Found this when changing rear diff oil!!

Option 1 is enticing if I didn’t buy the truck to haul a 6000lb travel trailer with the wife and kids. If it were just around town, I’d role the dice.

Found this when changing rear diff oil!!

Agreed. So it sounds like if these are found it would likely be from a previous failure that was repaired. Would have noticeable issues if condition was still there.

Found this when changing rear diff oil!!

Ok. I do have G80. Without having any experience on this topic I’d imagine that the size pieces would equate to total bearing failure.

Found this when changing rear diff oil!!

Hi Folks, Since purchasing the truck and not knowing what maintenance has been done. I’ve been doing some preventative. I purchased a new diff cover that has a drain plug. When taking the old off and cleaning, I found some large metal bits which look like parts of a roller bearing cage. Could...

I know what you’re saying. The first time I put the injectors in, they were not equal. I looked at the tips in the chamber and all seemed pretty darn close.
