    Tool carts for driveway repairs?

I used an old housekeeping cart from a hotel. I found it cheap at a pawn shop, cleaned it up, put some better (8") casters on it and loaded it with jackstands etc. Worked great but I didn't use it often enough to warrant the space it took up so I sold it last summer.

    Next chapter: College

Agreed! I've used AAA to get a K5 from my house to the transmission shop when I decided it was too cold and I was too old to be bench pressing a transfer case. I also used them to get a new purchase home! What would you do now if you broke down closer to home? I carry a minimal...

    Starting issues....sometimes

Sounds kinda like what I was experiencing with my 88. A bad temp sensor was the culprit. It was a quick $20 fix and the truck never took more than a second or two to start again. Not saying this IS your problem but it was certainly mine.

    Rear Diff Noise

U-Joints? Mine made some weird clunking noises that I'd never heard a U-joint make before this truck..

    Stupid Parking Brake Cables

They are available at lots of places: autopartswarehouse.com rockauto.com autozone.com The trick is ordering the right one. I have bought 7 different part numbers of parking brake cables and still not found the right one. My situation is different though. Mine is an OBS 2000 k2500 crew cab...

I was in KC a couple weeks ago and saw a set posted. They were already gone.

2000 Crew Cab to 2005 Z71 Leather Interior

I am intrigued. I'd like to see pics and more info on doing this swap. I have a CCSB with cloth interior but I was wondering about converting it to newer/leather.

    Tires and wheels. Opinions welcome

I actually looked at some PYOs and some of the older rally style steelies with rings. None had big enough tires or were in nice enough shape/cheap enough to buy and ditch the tires. I wish they hadn't changed the bolt pattern because these 2015 rims are nice too:

If I could find a decent set of these, they would be on the truck..

    Tires and wheels. Opinions welcome

Yes, I'm actually welcoming your opinions! I'm trying to pick a direction to go and right now I haven't got a real preference... My current rims are pretty well pitted and looking awful. However, the tires MT ATZs are still OK: I found a deal on this set of 35" Firestone ATs with Rims and...

Pre-Bent or OEM replacement brake lines?

Does your disc brake conversion vendor not offer a hose replacement for those hard lines? The one I was looking at had everything to go from the junction block on the axle out to the new calipers available as options. Seemed a lot easier than replacing the metal lines, flaring them, and then...

Wheel Cylinder, Hydroboost, Master Cylinder and other fun things...

It was the M#!$#@ @*&#^!% parking brake cable! It had just enough resistance in it that it wasn't fully releasing and allowing the adjuster arm to raise. The adjuster was doing it's job and adjusting out every time I hit the brakes. Oh well, it needed new springs and wheel cylinders anyway.

14 Bolt Full Float Drum Brakes

Drum brakes are actually just as if not better mechanically for stopping a large vehicle. Only recently did they move to large enough calipers and pads to equal the stopping power of drum brakes - I'm guessing cost was a factor in the past as few vehicles other than the 60's cadillacs required...

CCSB or Suburban power window short...

Ok... no electrical gurus here then. Anyone have a wiring schematic for the driver's Power window switch on a 2000 Crew Cab (mid to late 90s Suburban)?

CCSB or Suburban power window short...

All windows work fine from their respective switches. The master switch on the driver's door controls the passenger rear just fine as well. The master switch won't roll the passenger front window down (will roll it up though). The opposite goes for the driver side rear. That one rolls down...

Wheel Cylinder, Hydroboost, Master Cylinder and other fun things...

New hydroboost New Master Cylinder New wheel cylinders (both sides) New brake parts kits (springs etc both sides) Still sticks and gets hot on the passenger side. Just replaced the adjuster on that side and the the rubber hose that feeds the metal lines on the rear axle. Running out of ideas....

Wheel Cylinder, Hydroboost, Master Cylinder and other fun things...

Not sure I can tell the difference and neither was low. However, based on the odd steering I experienced tonight, I'm guessing it's power steering fluid. What I'm wondering is if the craziness with the rear wheel cylinder is related to the hydroboost or if it just happened to be at the same...

Wheel Cylinder, Hydroboost, Master Cylinder and other fun things...

So... The rear axle had a dragging feeling like the truck was stuck in 4wd. A quick inspection returned two obvious issues, a fluid leak under the hood (source undetected at this point - assumed master cylinder) that dripped down the driver side frame rail and a VERY hot passenger side rear...

    2000 K3500 4x4 CC DRW

Nope. Two pop rivets and a little time. I replaced 3 of mine on a saturday evening. Found em on ebay for around $20 shipped (not OEM). Old ones were water logged... weird. Truck has never been underwater and the raincoats on the actuators were intact.
