    99 Suburban K1500 build

I just had my mechanic do it, and I'm pretty sure he just replaced the condenser and dryer. It worked ok unless it was really hot, which is like 2-3 months straight here. The new compressor crapped out and we just use our minivan when it's hot now.

    99 Suburban K1500 build

When I had my compressor replaced (the lines were fine - California truck) the AC was still just meh on real hot days. It felt pretty cold at the vent, but simply couldn't really cool the truck off under most circumstances, at least compared to other vehicles I've had (like my 01 Expedition...

I found a how to video and this guy actually hacks off the top of the roller pin to get it out.

    Roller Pin Replacement

The roller pin in my passenger door top hinge is breaking apart (the bottom rolling part is severely bent). Most of the videos I'm finding online are about the hinge pin. Anyone done the rolling pin before and have any tips or tricks? It looks like I'll need a door spring tool and may need to...

Things that you've replaced that made a world of differance?

I think since my truck was in pretty good, low mileage condition to begin with, nothing has made all that much of a difference. I was hoping new plugs and injectors (5.0s) would give me a noticeable performance bump...but I didn't notice much difference, aside from fixing my warm-engine hard...

Any AC compressor recommendations for Suburbans?

Mine crapped out after just under 3 years. Any suggestions?

    My 1st Burban!

Nice Burb! I'm running just a hair over stock size tires on my 2500. I thought the tires that were on it when I bought it, stock size, looked too small on the massive beast.

    AC Rattle?

Thanks Mike. I'll have to figure out where the tensioner is and check it out. Oddly enough, I couldn't get the compressor to disengage yesterday...

    AC Rattle?

Thanks Richard. It's a brand new compressor installed July of 2015. No aftermarket tensioner as far as I know of, and yeah, it only rattles when the ac is on - though I haven't tested enough to see whether it goes off once the compressor cuts out with the ac still on. I'll go check that out...

    AC Rattle?

I have a fairly loud rattle coming from the compressor (or that area). The rattle stops within a second or two of turning off the AC. Any thoughts? I only noticed this because I realized yesterday that the rear is not blowing cold, so I was about to try and diagnose whether it was a blend door...

    1998 454 Fuel Issue

Replacing my injectors (with FiveO) and FPR solved my hard start issue. I may have only needed a new FPR, but opted to do the injectors at the same time.

    Hughes Performance 4l80e

Off topic question here, but what specifically would you say the Black Bear Tune changed? I've got a 7.4 in my Suburban and have been thinking of getting a tune, but not sure if it's worth it. I don't tow, but I do enjoy driving the truck and would like some extra oomph, if you will.

Oil dripping off of the starter.

Got the same thing on my 454. Here's my thread about it http://www.gmt400.com/threads/why-is-there-fresh-oil-on-my-starter.32370/ I still haven't done anything about it the leak is so mild there's never anything even dripping onto my driveway.

    99 K2500 454 Suburban Build(ish) Thread

Well, the 700 is including the 350 for the Bosch injectors, and the 350 for the work (including new gasket, new thermostat and housing). My power locks are...weak, I suppose. The driver's door and one rear work fine, but with the other two, you can see the lock moving a bit, but not quite...

    99 K2500 454 Suburban Build(ish) Thread

Had the fuel injectors replaced with a FiveO Bosch set. Also had the FPR replaced and thermostat & housing replaced at the same time (there was some coolant oozing from the area). I just did a quick outing last night after picking up the truck, but it does seem that the hard warm start issue...

    99-7.4 suburban 2500 engine upgrades

I was always reading about the FiveO injectors here, so that's what I went with. There was a coupon code for 30% off mentioned in another thread, which I used. Wasn't happy with their communication, but hopefully the injectors are good. I also remember reading about there being a better option...

    99-7.4 suburban 2500 engine upgrades

Thanks for the tip Tom. I dropped the Burb at the mechanic today, and I did bring him a new FPR as well. You think I should specifically mention the vacuum hoses to him, or is this something he'd notice while workin' on it? [my apologies for the thread jack!]

    99-7.4 suburban 2500 engine upgrades

I'm pretty sure I've heard Blackbear mentioned a lot on the forums http://www.blackbearperformance.com/ I don't know if they're local to you, but they can tune via mail in. As far as 'upgrades' I just ordered some new bosch fuel injectors for my 7.4. I'm hoping to have them installed this week...

    Hard Starting Problem

Sounds like it may be a fuel pump issue to me. Have you tried turning the key all the way without actually cranking, waiting a few seconds, and then cranking?

Can someone verify I've got the correct FPR

Thanks RedChevy. I've got a 99' so the Vortec. I'm pretty certain I've got the correct part, I just recall reading about a better option for the FPR.

    *&%$ mice

Good idea on the citrus. We've got several different citrus essential oils that would do the trick. The smell is fading quick, as the cats seemed to have scared off the rats/mice and they never actually got into the interior of the Burb.

Can someone verify I've got the correct FPR

Yeah, 7.4 2500. Looks like Amazon is just wrong.
