    Ive had a 1970 LT1 and a friend had a 69 DZ 302 in his Camaro. I was in both engines and neither had floating pins without the small ends being bushed.

    Did you verify the oil pick up tube to pan clearance? I've seen high volume pumps suck the pick up to the bottom of the pan and cause low oil presure. To prevent that, I would tack weld a nut to the bottom of the pick up tube, set the pan on without a gasket bolt it down with 4 bolts, then pull...

    The bolt was 5/8 on one end and 11/16 on the other. At least mine was. As for the pin bushing, I have never heard of a wrist pin riding(floating) on steel. It would definitely seize it the rod. That is MY understanding anyway.

    Also, if you buy a new crank, get a Scat. Every Eagle crank I have had needed work, I just send them to get .010/.010 turn right out of the box, so I quit buying them. Scat have been great right out of box.

    I have balanced EVERY engine I have built. Stock to performance. I also use a torque plate for honing for every engine I build.
