I have blown head gaskets on the above mentioned truck. 262k on the engine. I would like to swap the engine myself and save the 1 grand I'm being quoted for engine removal and install. I am not in a position to buy a new truck so I want to put a new engine in and hopefully get another 250k out of this truck.

2- are there any quality step by step how to manuals out there?
3- what other parts will I have to purchase to complete the job (gasket set, fluids etc)
4- what other parts would you recommend me change while doing all of this work?
