Thanks for all the replies. Good to know there’s a forum specific to 88-98 trucks.

    ‘94 350 TBI milky oil

Ok, this is crazy. So I decided to drain the oil just to see how milky it was, and there was no milk whatsoever! Just black dirty oil. It was about time to change anyway, so I put 5 qts fresh oil in and I guess I’ll just drive it and check oil every day. Why would the stick have a little milk on...

    ‘94 350 TBI milky oil

Pulled dipstick just to check oil and there’s a wee bit of milk on the stick. Advice requested on how to check for head gasket or intake gasket leak. I’m assuming it’s probably one or the other. Bought the truck used and it just rolled 150,000 miles. Have no idea if either of those gaskets have...

    brake booster vaccum connector

Was going to SeaFoam my truck and the vaccum connector on brake booster broke. Was being as gentle as I knew to be but still broke it. It's a $5.99 part at AutoZone so no biggie. But my question is, since part of it broke off and fell down into the booster, can that cause a problem or is it okay...

    '94 5.7 compression

posted yesterday about valve cover gaskets, but I got bigger issues than that. Started missing yesterday, so today I pulled the plugs and #1 plug was almost completely ashed over but it wasn't white ash it was tan colored ash. went ahead and pulled all 8 and two others were somewhat ashed up...

    Valve Cover gaskets replacement

Need to change valve cover gaskets on my '94 with the 5.7 It looks pretty straight forward but is there any tips or tricks to make it easier? Looks like I'd remove the air cleaner housing, and PCV for sure. Any suggestions for anyone who has "been there and done that"? Thanks for replies.

Thanks all the replies. I was able to bend them slightly up with my hands to give enough clearance. Then bend them back into where they were.

Getting them off is pretty easy...it's getting them back on that's so hard...the plug wire sits just slam on the shield which doesn't allow any room to even get boot pliers on the boot.

So glad I found this site! Here's my question. Has anyone removed the heat shields for the spark plug wires and not have issues with burning wires? I'll leave em on if it's really needed, but I want them suckers off if possible. Real pain to get wires on and off.
