No pain like loosing your vanity plate.

Back when I rode reining horses. I had a plate the said WHOA U SB. I got tired of paying to replace them. I would loose a set every year at the Quarter Horse Congress. Anti theft hardware didn't seem to slow them down - lol.

How rare is this?! Came right out!

If I were you - I'd go buy a lottery ticket! Everyone of those I've monkeyed with has been a pain. Not all of them snapped off - but until it's out, you are just waiting for it too!!!

1995 GMC C1500 engine cuts out then takes a few minutes to start. Pulling my hair out!

Check the ground straps from the frame (pass side) to the engine and to the firewall under the evaporator. May not be the cure, but those need to be in good shape or all kinds of issues can arise.

    Valve train problems

Welcome to the site Kurt. This is a great place with tons of knowledge and helpful people. You got a little of what I call baptism by fire. These dudes will light you up if you don't feed them the pertinent info. LOL!

    HVAC question/help

There is a way to test the resistor. https://troubleshootmyvehicle.com/gm/4.3L-5.0L-5.7L/testing-the-blower-resistor-1

    HVAC question/help

What kind of numbers should I be looking for when Ohm'ing the resistor? Or... is no burnt or broken wires and no "OL" (open circuit) good enough? A Also - is it somewhat safe to assume that hearing each relay click as different speeds are selected?

You are right 10mm - if not prepared, you'll probably drop the motor - lots of torque.

    HVAC question/help

Thankfully, I've not had a cowl leak on this truck. Although, I've had a few in the past that did. I may put a new motor in just to have history on that part. I believe the all the parts in the blower system are original. At least there was nothing in the service records from the original owner.

    HVAC question/help

1992 SCLB with a 3 speed blower. I understand "high speed only blower isn't a rare problem. I did a search and read posts until my eyes bled. I pulled the glove box - operated the blower switch, and heard each relay click. Not saying that means they are good (I don't know what it means)...

    Loopy idle

I purchased and install an AC Delco coil and ICM. Runs like a top. No more cheap parts for this Hillbilly : )

8 inch wheels with 265-75-16 tires

I also like the exhaust dump in front of the rear wheels. I am guessing those where custom bent?

Is that a Hotel ice cube bucket sitting on top of the carb?

    Loopy idle

I had a little roughness at idle until it hit operating temp. Not nearly as bad as before the new coil. Every once in a while it would stumble, in gear at a stop light. Anything above idle speed was fine. Does it sound like the ICM is suspect? Either junk to begin with, or damaged by the bad...

    Loopy idle

Update: It is with all due caution that I say.... The cold start after installing an Delco coil was positive. No bouncing tach. Idle stay rock solid when put in gear. I headed out to run some errands and see what happens. Will report.

I will get a get a quality coil as you suggested. The ICM just installed is a Duralast DR140 from AutoZone. I put the quarter size dollop heat sink grease that was in the box with the ICM. I don't have a scanner, so I will install a coil and see how it runs. I think I've seen the light...
