    Humming on deceleration

Yes, I removed the driveshaft making sure to mark it‘s orientation. The u-joints held their position (no flop) and moved smoothly. Caps were filled with grease and everything moved smoothly. After I tightened the nut, I also marked the nut and pinion with a paint pen so I could see if it...

    Humming on deceleration

Well, pinion nut was as loose as a goose. Once I got everything cleaned off the rear yoke, I saw that there was only one thread showing. I couldn't turn it by hand but once I put a socket and ratchet on it, it turned easily. I tightened it up and removed the play that was showing. At least I...

    Front Diff and Suspension issues

Update: Just to close the loop for others who may run across this. Shop is giving me hell saying that there is no problem. It’s right and the problem is my transfer case. I’ve been busy doing other upgrades and repairs. Today I finally had the chance to look deeper. Front that was...

    Humming on deceleration

Ok, so u-joints appear and feel ok. Tight but not overly so. Nice and smooth movement. Pinion.....well let's just say it ain't good. It does have play but the play seems limited to in-out vs up and down or side to side. I couldn't locate my socket that fits the pinion nut during lunch today...

    Humming on deceleration

I’ll check that this weekend. As far as the fluid goes I don’t remember what I used specifically but I do remember it said no additives. GL-5 compatible comes to mind.

    Front Diff and Suspension issues

I’m sorry if these questions are “basic” or something else. Like I said earlier, this Chevy 4wd system is new to me. I’m trying to learn and figure things out.

    Front Diff and Suspension issues

Vehicle is jacked up with the drivers side on the ground. I’m going to take it back to them. I have the intake off right now waiting on the injectors and intake gaskets to get here. if I put it in 4wd while rolling 5-10 miles per hour on dry pavement, it will stop forward motion of the truck...

it is rotating more. Using the rear tire as the “control”, one rotation of the rear tire turns the front more. The tape ends up at about 2 o'clock On the front tire.

    Front Diff and Suspension issues

Is this a valid test to verify having matching gears. Mine has the G80 option. If so, I’m afraid I may have an issue.

Standing still. I'm sorry I wasn’t clear, it is the electric pushbutton version. I'm still learning. All my previous 4wd experiences were with a manual shift/ manual hub 91 Bronco.

Update - additional questions. So I got the truck back about 6wks ago. I’ve been working on fixing electrical issues and all. Found the short in the wiring harness so now the 4wd works. 1. Today is the first day I tried to run the truck in 4wd. Drove it a couple of hundred yards to try...
