So, my cost on this adventure is around $110. Used an Amazon 99-06 4" "Cold air intake" kit, 6.5 TD airbox, 1/2" wide 304 SS clamps to replace what was in the amazon kit, 4" x 12" silicone coupler, new filter element for the 6.5 TD airbox.- PolarBear

From an engineering standpoint, it'll work great, should have lower IAT's versus a cone filter. I will say though, it was fairly difficult to track down, being it's a 2-3 year only airbox. There are some on ebay and marketplace, but I refuse to pay $100+ for a $25 piece.- PolarBear

Quoting off of the top of my head here, the box inlet is 7.5" x 3.5" OD, Oval. A 4" coupler at 5.5" long, allowed a smooth transition from the 4" OD intake tube, to the 7.5" x 3.5" OD oval outlet of the 6.5 TD air box. Excuse the mess, this is just a mock up engine. Used a 92-94 6.5 GM Turbodiesel air intake box to create a 100% sealed, true cold ram air system for this 88. It's attached to the factory air duct in the inner fender that provides cool air via a duct that's mounted under the passenger headlight...- PolarBear

Alright, this truck came without wiper arms and blades, so took the set off of the black 89 parts truck while tearing it down, media blasted them lastnight after work. Ran out on lunch and grabbed another can of satin-black paint and a pair of blades. Would ya look at that? Million...- PolarBear

Ordered everything but the AC compressor to totally re-build the HVAC and AC system on this truck. All of that showed up today, then realized I forgot to order a compressor. Hopped on rock auto, found the Four Seasons R4 compressor on clearance for $116! I know I paid close to $200 from them for...- PolarBear

Doing some fiddling with a 6.5 TD airbox on this swap. Finally got all of the pieces together and mocked it up on the truck. I think it should connect fairly well to the 4" intake tube, i'll just have to run a 6-8" section of 4" silicone coupler to correctly make the 4.75"x3" Oval transition to...- PolarBear

Either they were replaced with later production 2015+ units, or the lettering was worn off, as all LS6 cars came with black letters. LS6 specific valve covers procured, media blasted, painted, new grommet and pcv delete, NOS GM filler neck and Mobil 1 oil cap installed.- PolarBear
